Triage RN
Summary
The Triage Nurse is responsible for the handling of patient questions and problems concerning pregnancy and/or other gynecological problems. Staff must be compassionate, supportive and always working in the best interest of our patients. Primary duties include the following:
- Facilitate the phone Triage process
- Provides assistance via telephone to assess patients and return calls to the patients
- Review prescription requests and call in to the pharmacy if requests meet our guidelines, or refer to provider, also takes care of the pharmacy prior authorization process
- Provides patient education as needed and facilitates weekly OB classes
- Maintains supplies for OB classes and obtains products as needed
- Responds to patient questions and issues (walk-ins)
- Assists in the development and implementation of protocols for the Triage department
- Performs non-stress tests (NST) for OB patients
- Reviews labs and glucose test results on OB patients per protocol
- Reviews mammograms per protocol
- Facilitates follow-up of abnormal test results per provider direction
- Facilitates monthly recall process
